3 Questions with Hapi Partner Event Temple

Event Temple provides cloud-based software to help hotel sales teams prospect for new business, automate parts of their sales process, and improve their overall efficiency through features like pipeline management, multiple e-documents with e-signatures and invoicing, all available in-app. 

Beyond that, leadership shares with Hapi a vision of a next-generation hotel technology stack based off best-of-breed technology that is seamlessly integrated to communicate data in real time. We recently caught up with Event Temple to discuss how the COVID pandemic has accelerated the need for more efficient, low-cost back-end technology solutions.

1. How is Event Temple helping the hospitality industry innovate?

By making hotel tech simple, integrated, and customer-focused. 

In the past, the hospitality industry has been criticized for being late adopters in regards to technology. Can you blame them? Traditionally software systems were clunky, expensive, and had long implementation periods. Hotel owners and operators didn't want to invest their time and money into another system that might not work. 

Our goal is to provide individual hotels and groups with a powerful sales and catering software suite that is easy to implement, intuitive, and integrated. We're proud to say we've done that. 

We also have managed to mitigate any risk a hotel might feel with our free trial program and new pricing model. CEO Bob Graham said it best: "You don't typically buy a car without giving it a test drive. It should be the same with hotel tech. To my knowledge, we are the only sales and catering company in the world today offering free trials and showing transparent pricing on our website. I think that says something about the current state of the industry and how we are disrupting the status quo."

By eliminating the barriers to investing in new technology, hotel owners and operators are able to see what is possible and build their tech stack based on their businesses needs. 

2. What do you see as the biggest trend in hospitality tech in the post-COVID era?

Pre-COVID, the hospitality industry was trending towards another record breaking year and there wasn't a need to assess their current tech stack. It was the old, “if it ain't broke don't fix it” story. 

As soon as COVID hit, hotel owners and operators found themselves with the lowest occupancy rates in recent history, which gave them time to assess their current operating costs and look into other software that could potentially do more for less.

This has resulted in hotels transitioning off expensive, server-based systems to cloud-based, integrated tech stacks like Event Temple. The future of hotel tech is going to be open APIs with affordable, integrated marketplaces. 

Gone are the days of a one-stop shop solution. Hoteliers are going to be able to hand pick their tech stack and eliminate all the noise of additional features or products that they don't use.
